Luikki Luikki
Flatting for comics

Flatting in minutes,
not hours.

Luikki reads your inked page, builds every flat zone, and colors them from your own character sheets and the pages you've already finished. Nothing is locked in: every zone stays a layer you can repaint.

Scroll through the process
The process

From inked page to layered PSD, in six steps.

01

It reads your panels.

Drop in the inked page. Luikki finds the panel borders first, so no color bleeds from one panel into the next.

Inked comic page with its panel borders detected and outlined.
02

Balloons are zones, not holes.

Balloons, captions and gutters are recognised as regions of their own: they stay white because you want them to, not because they were missed.

The same page with balloons, captions and gutters marked as separate regions.
03

Every closed shape becomes a zone.

Stand-in colors make each region visible: an open line or a leak can't slip past you.

Raw zone map: every closed shape filled with a stand-in colour.
04

Then clean up the zone map.

Merge zones and split them however you like. The structure is right before a single real color touches the page.

Cleaned-up zone map after zones were manually merged and split.
05

Your character sheet drives the color.

Luikki matches each zone to the palette you defined for your characters, props and sets.

The page flatted with the colours defined in the character sheets.
06

Out as a layered file.

Named, layered PSD export: one group per panel or per color. Open it in your app of choice and keep working the way you always have.
